What is SM-veckan?
SM-veckan (the Swedish Championship Week) is one of Sweden’s largest sporting events, where national championships in a wide range of sports are decided during a single week.
During the winter edition, athletes from across the country gather to compete in more than 20 different sports – all broadcast live on SVT.
When and where does SM-veckan take place?
SM-veckan Winter will be held in Umeå on 25–29 March 2026. Competitions will take place at several venues across the city – both in central Umeå and in surrounding areas.

How does admission to the competitions work?
Entry to most competitions is primarily via the SM beanie 2026 – your all-access pass to the entire SM-veckan.
What is the SM beanie?
The SM beanie serves as your entry ticket to all competitions, on all days throughout SM-veckan, for 300 SEK.
As a bonus, the beanie also gives you free travel on Umeå’s local public transport during the event.

Can I buy a ticket for a single competition instead?
Yes. It will be possible to purchase tickets for individual competitions if you only wish to attend a specific event. Prices are set by the respective organising sports club.
Is admission free for children and young people?
Yes. Children and young people up to 18 years of age have free admission to all competitions during SM-veckan.
Can I use the SM beanie as a bus ticket?
Yes. During SM-veckan, the SM beanie allows free travel on Umeå’s local public transport (Ultra). Read more on Ultra’s website.
Which sports are included in SM-veckan?
The programme features a wide range of sports, including cross-country skiing, para cross-country skiing, curling, archery, snowbike, ski orienteering, bowling, e-sports, ju-jutsu and many more.

Don’t miss the official opening ceremony at Rådhustorget on Wednesday 25 March at 12:00.
Throughout the week, you can also try different sports at Umeå Energi Arena, where you’ll find the popular try-it-out area and food trucks. Västerbottens Museum will also be open to visitors.
