Difficulty, ground and up-to-date information 

Easy to cycle round on mainly smooth asphalt or gravel road. Usually the round goes over the Sörforsbron (bridge) and on to Stornorrfors and the salmon ladder, but it is closed during the period June 19 to August 15 due to renovations.

Suggestions for stops along the bike route

 

•    Umeå Energicentrum
Experience Umeå's first power plant, built in 1898-1899. Scenic environment, historic buildings, activities for all ages and guided tours of the Klabböle power plant museum. In the area there is a café with lunch and coffee facilities as well as an adventure playground for children. Open during the summer. 

•    Baggböle herrgård
Turn in at the manor house and take a look at the rapids and try to find the secretly located artwork 811 "Buddha", part of the Seven Rivers Art Route.

    Arboretum Norr
Stop for a while in the world's northernmost arboretum. In the beautiful river landscape north and south of Baggböle herrgård (manor) there is a "forest garden" with about 2,800 planted trees and shrubs divided into almost 400 species, subspecies and varieties from parts of the world.

•    Umedalen skulpturpark
Glide past one of northern Europe's foremost sculpture collections with some forty works by artists such as Tony Cragg, Louise Bourgeois, Anthony Gormley, Jaume Plensa and Anish Kapoor. The park is open all year round – around the clock – and with free admission. Make a stop at the local restaurant Bistro le Garage.
