Long-distance skating in Tavelsjö
The ice track in Tavelsjö is a popular excursion during the winter that attracts visitors from all over the region. In total, the ice track is about 13km long and winds beautifully across Lake Tavelsjön, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. New for this year is a small ice rink for children below the restaurant Root at Sundlingska Gården. Here you can also rent skates or borrow a "kick". Read more about Tavelsjö ice track here

Beautiful nature and hiking
In Tavelsjö you will find a varied landscape with several hiking trails and peaks with varying degrees of difficulty. For each mountain there is a marked path from its foot all the way up to the top. Food & Drink in Tavelsjö
In Tavelsjö you will find everything from a trendy stone oven baked pizza to classic burgers that are served out on the ice track. Here, the restaurants focus on small-scale and locally products.

Tavelsjö Wärdshus – Genuine, good and well-cooked food that is locally produced, locally grown and organic as far as possible. Here you will also find a good selection of vegetarian and vegan food.

Root - Located between Tavelsjöberget and Tavelsjön you will find the restaurant Root, a place that has become a starting point for the fantastic outdoor life that Tavelsjö has to offer. Here you can enjoy stone oven baked sourdough pizzas, awesome coffee and sourdough bread as well as their popular brunch on weekends between 9-11 (booking necessary). New for this winter season is Root Outdoors, a food kit to bring out on adventures in the surrounding nature, containing “pinnbröd” made with Root’s sourdough, a dough that is wrapped around a grill stick and cooked over fire, a hotpot, fika, smoothie and hot drink amongst other things.

Tavelsjökanot – Hamburgers, sausages, drinks, ice rink, fire, benches and tables. Surely it sounds both good and fun? Every weekend when the ice track is open, Tavelsjökanot will build its camp in the middle of the intersection of the eight-shaped ice track.
Cold bath
Probably the biggest trend of the winter. This year, the restaurant Root will offer the opportunity to swim in their prepared cold bath section, large enough to take a few swims. The ice hole will be open for people to use whenever Root are open. Read more about it here.
