Haga
Östra Kyrkogatan - ÖK’s
At Östra Kyrkogatan in Haga, you'll find a neighborhood restaurant that burger enthusiasts travel far and wide to visit. When ‘the Michelin Guide for Burgers,’ Burgerdudes, ranks Restaurang Östra Kyrkogatan as number 9 among Sweden’s 100 best burger joints, you know it’s the real deal.
– We dreamed of a neighborhood restaurant that could become a living room for all of Haga and Sandbacka—a place where people come to share a pub platter and enjoy a glass of wine, says Jon Palmebjörk.
Sure, the burgers are the star of the menu, but you’ll also find pasta dishes, salads, and pizza—you do you. And on Thursdays? That’s ÖKuiz night! But make sure to book in advance — seats fill up faster than you can say Quizmaster.

Lilla Krogen
The restaurant may be small, but the flavors are anything but. When Svenska Dagbladet named Umeå Sweden’s fourth-best dining city, Lilla Krogen received special recognition for its ‘lovingly crafted seasonal bistronomy.’ Even renowned chef Erik Videgård has joked about renting a snowmobile from Stockholm just to experience their culinary artistry. With captivating flavors served in a historic spot, they steal the hearts of food lovers with precision.

Gamla Kyrkan - GK’s
Of course, the residents of Teg shouldn’t miss out on the legendary burgers from the team behind Östra Kyrkogatan (ÖK’s). So, naturally, its sister restaurant, Gamla Kyrkan (GK’s), opened on Fruktvägen 1 – and yes, we heard the joyful cheers echo across the river when their smash burgers made their grand entrance!
Today, GK’s is a go-to pit stop before or after a Björklöven game (hockey), but there’s more than just burgers on the menu. Craving something else? Grab a seat and enjoy a sizzling pizza or a well-crafted pasta dish.

Rökstugan
On the outskirts of an unassuming industrial area, you'll find a dining experience beyond the ordinary. Rökstugan BBQ opened in the fall of 2021 and has been sending smoke signals that attract grill lovers from across the region. The menu changes depending on what premium cuts the trio behind the restaurant can get their hands on, but St. Louis cut ribs, pulled pork, and oxtail are frequent stars. And for those eager to up their grilling game, the guys also offer barbecue courses — giving ambitious backyard chefs the chance to become the neighborhood’s undisputed grill master by summer.
