Welcome to SM-veckan!

From March 25–29, the city of Umeå will host SM-veckan, one of the biggest sporting events of the year in Sweden. At venues in and around central Umeå, some of the country’s most talented athletes will compete in more than twenty different sports. The entire week will be broadcast live on SVT. Welcome to this celebration of sport!

An action-packed week of competition awaits, with no fewer than 23 Swedish Championships being held across seven different venues in Umeå! New for this year is Snow Bike - similar to alpine skiing, but on a bike, which will take place at Bräntberget. Check out more sports and daily schedules below!

Opening Ceremony at Rådhustorget

During the opening ceremony, we celebrate Västerbotten’s own stars Linn Svahn, Sandra Näslund and Jonna Sundling – with the latter also attending in person.

SM-veckan Winter Village

25–29 March | Umeå Energi Arena

Umeå Energi Arena is the natural meeting place for both sports enthusiasts and curious visitors. Expect food trucks, churros and a great atmosphere from morning to evening. Try your luck in various competitions, sing along in car karaoke or give one of the Swedish Championship sports a go. Don’t miss the chance to pick up this year’s SM Week merchandise and the official beanies – perfect keepsakes from the celebration of sport.

Try-It-Out Area

At Umeå Energi Arena, you can try a range of sports – regardless of age or previous experience. Explore everything from well-established disciplines to new additions to the programme. Instructors and athletes are on site to guide and inspire. Take part at your own pace, on your own or together with family and friends. Everyone is welcome.

Västerbottens Museum

 

SM Week at Västerbotten Museum

25–29 mars | Västerbottens museum

During the competition days, the museum building will have extended opening hours. Discover engaging exhibitions and visit the cosy café, serving both hot and cold lunch options as well as delicious fika. You can also bring your meal as takeaway to enjoy by the ski competitions. Food and Drink at Gammlia

During SM Week, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy great food and drink. Sävargården serves lunch and fika in its restaurant. Västerbotten Museum’s café is open as usual, offering a wide range of hot and cold options. A visit to Tráhppie is also well worth it – here you’ll find Sámi handicrafts, silver, books, reindeer meat, and locally produced fika.
