From March 25–29, the city of Umeå will host SM-veckan, one of the biggest sporting events of the year in Sweden. At venues in and around central Umeå, some of the country’s most talented athletes will compete in more than twenty different sports. The entire week will be broadcast live on SVT. An action-packed week of competition awaits, with no fewer than 23 Swedish Championships being held across seven different venues in Umeå! New for this year is Snow Bike - similar to alpine skiing, but on a bike, which will take place at Bräntberget. Check out more sports and daily schedules below!
Celebrate the start of SM-veckan on 25 March at 12:00 at Rådhustorget in central Umeå.
Just outside the ski stadium and next to Umeå Energi Arena Vind, you’ll find the SM-veckan Winter Village. Here, exhibitors, activities and competitions create a lively meeting place, with the chance to win great prizes. The area features food trucks, hot chocolate, car-pool-karaoke and a DJ tower. A natural gathering spot between competitions – perfect for a break, something to eat and more of the SM-veckan atmosphere.
At Umeå Energi Arena, you can try a range of sports – regardless of age or previous experience. Discover everything from established sports to new additions to the programme. Instructors and athletes are on site to demonstrate and guide. Take part at your own pace, on your own or together with family and friends. Everyone is welcome.
På området utanför Västerbottens museum hittar du SM-veckans Vintertorg. Under veckan sjuder platsen av aktivitet. Här kan du bland annat åka hundspann med Sundog Huskies. Sävargården serverar en värmande buffé och frasiga våfflor i sin kåta utanför restaurangen. Passa också på att besöka Trapphie – här hittar du samiskt hantverk, fika och närproducerade produkter.
Lokala kvinnliga kreatörer säljer unikt, närproducerat och hållbart hantverk. Marknaden håller öppet varje dag under SM-veckan.
