Honorary Citizenship Ceremony

Chair of the Municipal Council, Marie-Louise Rönnmark, installs Umeå’s honorary citizen, Professor Emmanuelle Charpentier. Professor Charpentier was a visiting researcher at Umeå University when she made the scientific discovery that led to the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2020. Her work has, in an outstanding way, increased the visibility of the world-leading research conducted at Umeå University.
