4) Museum
Umeå's various museums offer something for everyone. Västerbottens Museum is our county museum where you can learn about the cultural history of Västerbotten as well as Sami traditions. Bildmuseet is one of Sweden's most interesting scenes for international contemporary art. Kvinnohistoriskt museum (i.e. The Museum of Women's History) is the only one of its kind in Sweden and Umedalens Skulpturpark (sculpture park) has one of northern Europe's most important sculpture collections. Finally: Guitars - The Museum with one of the world's largest and best privately-owned collections of guitars.
5) Shopping
The range of shops is large in Umeå, both in the city centre and the commercial areas IKEA/ Avion Shopping and Stora Birk, that are just a short trip away with a local bus. In the city centre there are three malls, an indoor square and a variety of local shops well worth a visit.

Gamla Salteriet – Among red fishing sheds in the cultural harbour in Byviken, Obbola lies this picturesque fish shop which offers freshly caught and local fish, traditional food crafts, shop, restaurant and a small museum right next to the sea.
