We've got a whole bunch of exciting, fun, and creative activities lined up for everyone on fall break! Whether you're looking to head out for an adventure in the crisp autumn air or cozy up indoors with some crafting, there's something for everyone. So do something fun – fall break has never been more exciting!

Experience a magical evening at Hamptjärnsberget with cozy bonfires and viewpoints perfect for spotting the northern lights. The café will be open, offering a warming fireplace, freshly baked waffles, pastries, and a special hot northern lights drink. You can also buy dough and bake your own bread on a stick over the fire.
For the children, there will be crafts, a fun quiz trail, and a planet hunt – bring a flashlight or borrow one on site.
October 30 5 PM-9 PM at Hamptjärnsberget

On October 31, Visit Umeå invites all children to join a colorful masquerade parade through the city center. Dress up – as a princess, knight, witch, superhero, or whatever you like – and help spread light and joy in the autumn darkness. The parade follows a short route from Renmarkstorget through the city center before we gather at Rådhustorget to fill the square with light and a festive atmosphere ahead of the opening of Höstljus. Participation is free for all children and families!
Meeting point: Renmarkstorget, October 31 at 4:15 PM. The parade starts at 4:30 PM.

Take a break from the autumn chill and step into Sara Granér’s colorful world at Bildmuseet. In the exhibition Rail Us from Evil, you’ll meet her characteristic fable creatures that have left the paper and gathered around an absurdist model railway. Food, coffee, and drinks are available at the museum restaurant Bygden.
💡Extra autumn break tip: For those who want to get creative, Bildmuseet’s Art Workshop will be open.
October 29–November 2, 12–5 PM at Bildmuseet

Start the autumn break day with an adventure at Bölesholmarna with Umeå Kallbad! Here, cozy sauna warmth and a refreshing dip in the lagoon await the whole family. Children can also grab paper and pens to draw their very own dream sauna. By the crackling fire, coffee and warm lingonberry drink will be available for purchase. Bring your own treats, swimwear, warm clothes, a towel, flip-flops, and something to sit on – and you’re all set for a wonderfully cozy morning in nature.
October 31, drop in between 10 AM and 12 PM at Bölesholmarna, Umeälven.

Join Musse and Helium on an exciting mission in Umeå City Centre and compete for an exclusive Musse & Helium kit! With your mobile phone as a guide, you’ll step right into their magical world, where together with the brave sibling mice you’ll search for clues leading to five hidden treasures. Bring the whole family and set off on a true Halloween adventure.
The treasure hunt runs from October 25 to November 2 during opening hours at the MVG, Utopia och Väven. shopping centres.

Discover the secrets of the universe with exciting experiences for the whole family. Explore the mysteries of space and how they affect life here on Earth – from light and darkness to phenomena like space weather and magnetic fields. Try fun experiments, go on a treasure hunt, learn more about bats, and join immersive space journeys and film adventures at Wisdome Umeå.
At Curiosum on October 25 and November 2, 10 AM–5 PM.

Kappa Bar invites you to a day filled with play and creativity for the entire family. Challenge each other in board games, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch, or just sit back and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. On the menu you’ll find playful street food suitable for both kids and adults. As a colorful extra, free face painting for children is offered between 5 PM and 7 PM.
